Journey
Before we ever signed the papers or unpacked a single box, we stood on this land and just breathed. It was quiet in the way that makes your heart feel loud. Wide open in a way that stirred up old dreams we hadn’t dared say out loud in years. It was a pond, a pasture, and one very big, beautiful tree—and somehow, it felt like home before it ever really was.
This is where Bougie Little Farm began.
The Pond
We call it The Basshole. (Because, yes—we’re a little extra and a little punny.) It’s tucked into the low spot on the property and was one of the first things that drew us in. The water is calm, reflective—both literally and emotionally. It’s where we go to exhale, to skip rocks, to watch for frogs and turtles, and to dream up what’s next. One day, maybe it’ll be a little fishing hole or a sunset picnic spot. For now, it’s just ours.
The Pasture
Green and wild, and full of potential. It doesn’t look like much at first glance—just open space. But to us? It’s a blank canvas. We see rows of flowers, chickens pecking in the distance, and kids running barefoot under the summer sky. This pasture is where sweat will mix with joy, where work will feel a lot like play (and sometimes the other way around), and where our vision for a simple, meaningful life takes root.
The Tree Named Polly
She wasn’t the biggest or flashiest part of the land, but she quickly became the heart of it. An old elm tree with limbs like open arms, Polly has presence. She stands strong in the middle of it all—quietly watching as we shape this land and let it shape us back. We named her Polly because she just seemed like a Polly. (And we’re the kind of people who name trees. Obviously.)
There’s something grounding about having a tree like that—one that’s seen more seasons than we have, and stands tall through storms and sunshine. Polly reminds us to stay rooted and reach for the sky at the same time.
This Land, This Life
We didn’t buy a dream that was already built—we bought one we’d have to build from scratch. But that’s exactly what we wanted. Something we could grow into. Something we could grow with. Bougie Little Farm isn’t about being fancy—it’s about creating beauty in the everyday, adding sparkle to the ordinary, and building a life that feels good on purpose.
So if you're here watching from the beginning: thank you. We’re honored to have you on this journey with us. There’s magic in the mess and wonder in the weeds. And this? This is just the beginning.
